WELCOME TO SMCC!

The 2009 season is upon us. Lots of new faces at winter nets will undoubtably lead to the kind of competition for places which the club needs to lead it to higher honours. 2008 was a disappointing year for many as injuries and unavailability meant that all teams were unable to progress as they would have liked. However, much fun was had and all teams finished safely in the division they started the season in. We are still keen to expand our ranks for the 2009 season and are looking for players of all abilities and ages to join the club. If you are interested, please contact the club for more information. Contact details on the "About Us" page.

We will run 4 League Saturday sides, 3 Sunday sides and a Sunday Development League side during the 2009 season. We also run Colts teams for age groups 5-16yrs.

The Saturday 1st X1 will be keen to push on and get promoted from Surrey Championship Division 3 and the youth of the club will be central to achieving that goal. New Captain, Chris McGill, will be hoping to lead his side to promotion in his first year.

The Saturday 2nd X1 will also be pushing for promotion this year following some close misses in previous years. Mark Eldridge continues to captain the side providing invaluable support and guidance to the youth of the club.

The Saturday 3rd X1 will be keen to gather some consistency in terms of selection and performance in 2009. Lee Vidler will take on full time captaincy after assuming the job late last year.

Andrew Henderson did a good job marshalling the 4's and achieved some good results in 2008 - he will be keen to challenge for honours next year.

The Development X1 has underachieved in recent times again narrowly missed out on the Finals Day following an inconsistent season.

For those who wish to play a relaxed game on a Sunday, we will run 3 teams on Sunday mixing abilities and ages.

If you would like more details of coaching and playing for the Colt age groups, Please contact Head Coach, Allen Blackford on 07515 632 570, or e-mail Dan Ellis @ daniel.ellis.2@claridenleu.com. All S&MCC coaches are CRB checked and ECB Qualified. There is also a news story on this site which contains all the information and forms required to join the colts section. Please search for "colts" in the news section of this website.

Outdoor Nets are on a Thursday evening at the club and start from 6.30pm. All are welcome.
