The club made much progress over 2009 with new members providing competition for places and unprecedented availability to the extent we were able to resurrect our Saturday 5th team. All teams finished safely midtable, a stable base to build on for next year... A womens section was started and we are keen for it to progress with a view to playing league cricket in the near future. Clubmark was also achieved after months of work.
We are still keen to expand our ranks for the 2010 season and are looking for players of all abilities and ages to join the club. If you are interested, please contact the club for more information. Contact details on the "About Us" page.
We run 5 Saturday sides, 3 Sunday sides and a Sunday Development League side during the 2009 season. We also run Colts teams for age groups 5-16yrs.
The Saturday 1st X1 maintained it's youthful feel under new captain, Chris McGill. A disappointing end to the season ended our promotion aspirations, though we are already building for our league assault next season.
The Saturday 2nd X1 struggled for consistency and had some frustrating losses to finish mid table.
The Saturday 3rd X1 had their best finish for many seasons, as captain Lee Vidler cultivated a top team spirit which proved crucial in many games.
Andrew Henderson did a great job in leading the 4's. He narrowly missed promotion after a stunning late season charge.
The Development X1 again underachieved and suffered with inconsistent availability. We will be keen to rectify this next year.
Wayne Fitzharris did a fantastic job for the 5th X1. In his first season, he identified the need for a further team and went about arranging fixtures, selecting teams and providing cricket for those who may not have had it. We have entered the 5th team into a league for next season as a result of Wayne's excellent work.
For those who wish to play a relaxed game on a Sunday, we run 3 teams on Sunday mixing abilities and ages.
We also have a thriving midweek team.
